The CLSTR BAT SW 275AX3 & DVSR SQ MC8 by BEP is a battery distribution cluster designed for single-engine marine systems with two battery banks. This integrated system optimizes onboard power management by combining a robust 275-amp continuous battery switch and a digital voltage sensing relay (DVSR).
Electrical Performance and Safety
This cluster provides 275 A DC continuous current, 455 A DC intermittent current, and 1250 A DC cranking current, ensuring reliable power for demanding applications. Its maximum 32 V DC voltage is compatible with 12 V and 24 V systems, while the 2 x 10 mm (3/8") tinned copper termination studs ensure robust connectivity and optimal conductivity. The CLSTR BAT SW 275AX3 & DVSR SQ MC8 is UL 1107 certified and ignition-protected, offering enhanced safety in marine environments. Its minimal power consumption (15 mA in off position) preserves battery charge.
Integration and Advanced Features
The integrated digital voltage sensing relay (DVSR) automatically manages battery charging, prioritizing the starter battery before charging the house battery bank. This ensures your engine is always ready to start while keeping house batteries charged. Installation can be flush-mounted or surface-mounted for flexibility. Compared to modular solutions like individual BEP 716-H battery switches (48 V DC), this cluster is an integrated and compact 12/24 V solution, similar to BEP’s MD series clusters (e.g., 80-716-0014-00 for single engines), but with automatic management of two battery banks via DVSR. This integration reduces wiring complexity and space requirements, offering a significant advantage over separate component installations.
