Detailed description
The BEP CSP6-PTC panel is a watertight DC distribution panel designed for marine electrical installations requiring reliability and compactness. This 6-circuit model integrates Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) fuse technology with automatic reset, permanently eliminating the need to replace fuses after an overcurrent fault. With a nominal voltage of 12V DC and 20A certified switches, it provides a robust solution for managing lighting circuits, pumps, or navigation equipment.
PTC Technology and IP56 Watertightness
Unlike traditional fuses that require manual replacement, the PTC fuses in the CSP6-PTC automatically reset once the electrical fault is resolved. This feature, combined with the IP56 watertight rating, ensures maintenance-free operation in the typical humid and saline environments found on boats. The backlit labels consume only 1.25 mA (68,000 hours with an 85 Ah battery), ensuring permanent readability without draining the battery.
Positioning and Comparison
The CSP6-PTC differs from the BEP CSP6 and CSP6-F ranges by its integrated PTC protection, whereas the latter use conventional fuses. It thus offers a more modern user experience and reduced maintenance. Compared to competing panels such as Blue Sea Systems’ watertight models, the CSP6-PTC is positioned as an economical and functional solution, though less modular than systems with busbars. This model is supplied with the standard SET-1SP label set, enabling clear circuit marking (cabin lighting, bilge pump, etc.). Mounting screws and protective grommets are included.
