Detailed description
Detailed description
The BEP 701-MDVS-D 12V motorized battery switch is an advanced solution for automated energy management aboard. A direct evolution of the renowned manual model in the 701 series, this version integrates a complete motorization coupled with a voltage-sensitive charging relay (VSS). Designed specifically for 12V systems, it supports continuous loads of 275A, 455A intermittently, and can withstand up to 1250A during startup. Its control wiring via Deutsch connector ensures superior connection reliability, essential to counter vibrations and humidity in demanding marine environments.
Automation and electrical safety
This module stands out from traditional couplers by its dual functionality: it automatically manages the coupling and decoupling of battery banks based on detected voltage (low-voltage cutoff threshold at 12.2V), and offers an emergency parallel mode, essential in case of engine battery failure. The integration of LED indicators allows precise monitoring of system status (automatic mode, overload, low-voltage disconnection, or manual mode). In the off position, its electrical consumption remains extremely low, at just 15mA.
Robust design for nautical use
Certified IPX6 (protected against powerful water jets) and ignition-protected, this battery switch complies with strict UL 1107, ABYC, and CE standards. It is equipped with two 10 mm (3/8") studs accepting cables up to 50 mm² (or 70 mm² with a tension reducer). Capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +60°C, it outperforms standard couplers in terms of durability and secure integration within modern electrical networks.
