The BEP VSR DIG 12/24V MC20 is a digital voltage sensing relay (DVSR) designed for automatic and reliable management of dual batteries aboard. Unlike older analog relays such as the BEP 710-125A it replaces, this model integrates digital technology that provides increased precision in trigger thresholds and reduced power consumption. It ensures priority charging of the starter battery before automatically combining the service battery, thus protecting the engine against unintended discharge.
Digital technology and voltage versatility
The DVSR stands out for its ability to operate in both 12V and 24V DC with automatic selection, making it ideal for a wide range of vessels, from small sailboats to motorboats. Its digital design guarantees precise switching at programmed voltages: engagement at 13.4V (12V) / 26.8V (24V) and disengagement at 12.8V (12V) / 25.6V (24V). Compared to a simple coupler or diode isolator, it introduces no voltage drop, maximizing alternator charging efficiency.
Performance and current capacity
With a continuous current capacity of 125 A and an intermittent current of 140 A, this relay is suitable for most onboard charging systems. Its robust design, certified to UL 1107 and CE standards, ensures long-term reliability in demanding marine environments.
Low standby consumption and storage mode
A key advantage of this digital model is its extremely low standby consumption of just 1.8 mA (1.6 mA at 24V). Additionally, thanks to an optional switching circuit, it can be placed in storage mode at 0 W, which is essential for preserving the battery during winter storage or long periods of inactivity—a feature absent in older models.

The VSR DIG 12/24V MC20 connects simply with three wires, leaving the alternator wiring intact.
