Designed for protecting high-current circuits in marine environments, the Blue Sea MAXI fuse block 5006100-BSS is a reliable solution for onboard electrical distribution. It meets ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 standards, making it suitable for ignition-protected areas such as gasoline engine compartments. This block can handle currents up to 80A.
Design and materials
The MAXI fuse block from Blue Sea is constructed using molded plastics with a UL 94 V0 flame rating, ensuring enhanced fire resistance. The internal bus is made of tinned brass, providing stable electrical conductivity and corrosion protection. The terminals feature 10-32x1/2" stainless steel screws compatible with #10 or M5 lugs, and the block accommodates cables up to 4 AWG. Weighing 114g, it offers a lightweight and compact solution for marine electrical installations.
Installation and flexibility
The MAXI fuse block includes features that simplify installation and maintenance. It has standard cutouts for side and bottom wire access, offering flexibility in cable routing. A breakaway line allows removal of an entire section of the insulating cover if larger wires or lugs require increased terminal access. The removable insulating cover, critical for ignition protection performance, is secured by a lever-release clamping system. For mounting, #10 or M5 screws are required, with a 52.4 mm spacing.
