Designed for precise load measurement in marine environments, the CYCLOPS Smartlink² 10t ee is a wireless load cell intended for eye-to-eye or shaft-to-shaft terminations. It targets demanding applications on yachts, superyachts, and racing sailboats, particularly for offshore racing and high-performance sailing.
Design and technical performance
This load cell is manufactured with a Ti6Al4V titanium body and a PC/ABS housing, giving it a mass of 710 g and dimensions of 140 x 72 x 28 mm. Its robustness is confirmed by a safety factor of x4 and IP68 waterproofing, ensuring resistance to prolonged immersion. The Smartlink² 10t ee offers a maximum load capacity of 10 tonnes (10,000 kg) with an accuracy of ±1% of the maximum working load, maintained between -10 and +40°C. The recommended shaft diameter for optimal accuracy is 28.6 mm.
Connectivity and battery life
The CYCLOPS Smartlink² 10t ee transmits load data in real time via Bluetooth. It can connect directly to the Cyclops smartphone app (iOS and Android) or to onboard electronics via an optional Cyclops gateway box. This gateway ensures compatibility with NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, NKE, UDP, and MQTT interfaces. Data transmission frequency is adjustable from 0.1 to 10 Hz via the app, with a factory setting of 1 Hz. Powered by a 0.925 Wh lithium polymer battery, it offers a battery life of 2,000 hours in standard mode (1 Hz) and up to 8,000 hours in extended use mode (0.25 Hz). Charging is done wirelessly via induction.
Integration and compliance
This load cell is designed for integration into fixed systems such as forestays, running backstays, booms, halyards, headsail tack points, mainsail sheets, and hydraulic rams. It is intended for eye-to-eye or shaft-to-shaft mounting and is not recommended with textile shackles or soft strops. The Smartlink² 10t ee complies with the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
