Detailed description
The Deeper CHIRP 4+IA is a wireless fishfinder integrating GPS and AI assistance, designed for underwater environment analysis and fish identification. This device enables precise fish detection, detailed mapping of vegetation, and analysis of bottom hardness, providing a comprehensive understanding of the underwater structure in your fishing areas.
AI-powered fish detection
AI-powered fish detection uses advanced machine learning to interpret sonar data in real time. This system distinguishes fish from noise and vegetation by analyzing the shape, structure, and movement of sonar returns. Fish are marked only after full object detection, ensuring high accuracy and reducing false detections. The fish icon appears on the screen once the object is fully visible in the sonar data. This feature can be enabled or disabled in the app settings. For optimal accuracy, use the narrow beam (7°) provided the fishfinder remains stable.
Custom underwater vegetation mapping
The Deeper CHIRP 4+IA allows creation of detailed underwater vegetation maps in 2D and 3D views. These maps visualize the structure and distribution of plants, including vegetation edges, pockets, and clear passages. They help identify fish-holding zones, paths for casting or lure retrieval, and better understand the general bottom layout. Vegetation mapping relies on advanced sonar data analysis. For accurate results, sonar stability and use of narrow (7°) or medium (20°) beams are essential; the wide beam (47°) is not available for this function due to lower detail precision. Map accuracy improves with repeated scans of the same areas.
Bottom hardness mapping
This fishfinder also generates 2D and 3D bottom hardness maps, illustrating variations in lake or river bottom composition. The Deeper CHIRP 4+IA analyzes sonar signal reflection to determine bottom hardness, identifying hard zones (gravel, rock), soft zones (mud, silt), and transition zones. These transitions are points of interest where fish often gather. For optimal detection accuracy, sonar stability and use of narrow (7°) or medium (20°) beams are recommended; the wide beam (47°) is excluded for this mapping. Bottom hardness is represented by a color scale, with darker/softer tones indicating soft bottom and lighter/yellow tones indicating hard bottom.
Fish location on your maps
Detected fish are recorded and displayed directly on your maps, enabling analysis of past activity beyond the live scan session. AI-identified fish are marked with icons and stored at their exact locations in 2D and 3D views. This feature, enabled in map settings, allows analysis of fish activity over time and identification of high-probability zones for future fishing sessions. "Hotspots" are created when the "Fish locations" option is enabled in map settings and are specific to the current session.
