Detailed description
Detailed description
The Fell Marine MOB+ system is a wireless kill switch designed to replace the traditional safety lanyard on your boat. Using the proprietary WiMEA protocol, this device provides complete freedom of movement while ensuring immediate engine shutdown in the event of a man-overboard situation. Unlike classic mechanical kill switches that restrict the helmsman's movement, the MOB+ allows safe movement on deck.
WiMEA technology and multi-user safety
The system consists of a base unit (xHUB) installed on the console and a transmitter (xFOB). The secure range is approximately 15 meters. If the xFOB wearer falls overboard or moves beyond this distance, the engine shuts off automatically within a fraction of a second. Up to 4 xFOBs can be connected simultaneously to the system (one helmsman and three passengers), providing comprehensive protection for the crew. This multi-user approach and the WiMEA protocol distinguish it from competing systems based on simple Bluetooth, ensuring a robust, ultra-fast, and interference-free connection.
Installation and engine compatibility
The xHUB unit easily integrates into standard dashboards thanks to its 51 mm cutout format and operates on 12V or 24V power. The IP68-certified xFOB is fully waterproof and has a battery life of approximately 300 hours thanks to its replaceable battery. The system is compatible with most outboard and inboard engines on the market (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda, Evinrude), interfacing directly in parallel or in series with the existing kill switch harness.
