Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed by Airmar for Garmin systems, the bronze through-hull transducer Airmar B75H delivers 600W high-frequency CHIRP capability. It operates between 130 and 210 kHz, providing an 80 kHz total bandwidth for precise target detection and bottom separation. This model features a 12° tilted ceramic element, compensating for hull trim angles of 6° to 15° to ensure the sonar beam is directed vertically.
Technical performance and applications
With 600W power, the B75H can reach depths of 214 meters (700 feet) under optimal conditions. The narrow beam, ranging from 15° to 9°, is specifically suited for locating fish near underwater structures such as wrecks and reefs, and for distinguishing baitfish from game fish. It simultaneously provides depth and water temperature data. Compared to other Airmar CHIRP models like the B75L (low frequency for deep water) or B75M (mid frequency for versatility), the B75H targets high frequency for enhanced detail and target separation, ideal for targeted fishing at mid-range depths.
Integration and compatibility
The bronze housing of the Airmar B75H is specifically recommended for fiberglass or wooden hulls and must not be installed on metal hulls due to risks of electrolytic corrosion. Installation requires a 70 mm (2-13/16 inch) hole, and its low profile ensures good performance at high speeds. It features an 8-pin Garmin-specific connector and benefits from Airmar’s Xducer ID® technology, enabling automatic sonar configuration for optimized performance. Cable length is 11.89 meters (39 feet).
