Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for expanding marine electronic systems, the Garmin BlueNet™ 20 switch is a high-speed networking solution that facilitates communication between compatible Garmin BlueNet devices. It is essential for extending connectivity and integrating multiple devices on a single network, providing a robust marine architecture.
Connectivity and network performance
The Garmin BlueNet™ 20 features multiple BlueNet network ports, allowing simultaneous connection of various devices. It supports data transmission speeds up to 1 Gbps, critical for applications requiring high bandwidth such as high-resolution video streaming, scanning radars, and advanced sonars. Status LEDs clearly indicate network activity: green for 10/100 Mbps and blue for 1,000 Mbps.
Integration and installation
This switch is compatible exclusively with Garmin BlueNet devices. For installations including older Garmin Marine Network devices, a Garmin BlueNet 30 gateway (sold separately) is required to ensure communication. The BlueNet™ 20 switch is powered by a 10 to 32 Vdc source and consumes a maximum of 330 mA. Installation is simplified by automatic startup upon power-up. Made of polycarbonate plastic and die-cast aluminum, it features water resistance rated IEC 60529 IPX7, protecting against accidental immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It must be mounted at least 2.54 cm away from interference sources and in a ventilated location. Its compass safety distance is 10 cm. Dimensions are 293.3 × 72 × 112.6 mm with a weight of 0.5 kg.
