Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin BlueNet™ network cable 15 m (50 ft), part number 010-12528-03, is an essential component for establishing a high-speed marine network. Designed to connect Garmin BlueNet devices together, or to a Garmin BlueNet 20 switch and a Garmin BlueNet 30 gateway, it provides a reliable and high-performance communication infrastructure for modern marine electronics systems.
BlueNet technology for advanced connectivity
This cable integrates Garmin BlueNet technology, successor to the Garmin Marine Network, offering significant improvements. It uses 4 twisted pairs combined for data transmission and Wake on LAN (WoL) functionality, enabling connection speeds up to 1 Gbps. This capacity supports a greater number of video streams, improved resolutions, and the integration of more sophisticated sensors and devices, such as the LiveScope™ system or GMR™ xHD3 radars. The compact marine-grade water-resistant connectors, similar in size to NMEA 2000® connectors, are specifically designed for the marine environment, providing better cable management and superior durability compared to standard RJ45 connectors from the previous Garmin Marine Network.
Network integration and compatibility
The Garmin BlueNet network cable ensures extensive compatibility with a wide range of Garmin BlueNet devices. It also allows connection of third-party devices, such as IP cameras, without requiring a specific marine-grade PoE isolation coupler. For installations integrating equipment from the previous Garmin Marine Network, this cable can be used in combination with a Garmin BlueNet 30 gateway, ensuring smooth transition and coexistence of systems. Each cable segment must not exceed 87 m (285 ft) and must not include more than one coupler, such as the Garmin BlueNet cable coupler (010-12531-00), to maintain optimal network performance. Garmin recommends using only original BlueNet network cables to ensure compliance with minimum performance specifications.
