Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin Navionics+ marine chart for Central America and the Caribbean provides a comprehensive mapping solution for compatible Garmin chartplotters. It combines Garmin and Navionics content for detailed coverage of the region’s inland and coastal waters.
Extended Geographic Coverage
This chart covers the west coast of Mexico from Tijuana to Panama, the entire Panama Canal, and the east coast of Panama to Brownsville, Texas. It also includes extensive coverage of the Caribbean, including the remote Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Cuba, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Lesser Antilles down to Grenada.
Advanced Technical Features
The chart integrates Auto Guidance+™ technology, which combines the best automatic routing algorithms from Garmin and Navionics to suggest dock-to-dock routes through channels and marina entrances. Users also benefit from depth shading, allowing selection of up to 10 shaded color options to highlight specific target depths. Contours down to 0.3 meters (1 foot) are available, providing detailed representation of the seabed structure for fishing and improving chart accuracy in areas such as swamps, canals, ports, and marinas.
Updates and Community Content
A one-year subscription is included, granting access to daily chart updates via the ActiveCaptain® app. Thousands of updates are made daily to maintain content accuracy. The shallow-water shading feature allows setting a custom depth to visualize shallow areas to avoid. For certain U.S. waters, NOAA raster charts can be downloaded for free via the ActiveCaptain app, offering a paper-chart-like view on the chartplotter. The ActiveCaptain community also contributes points of interest (POI) such as marinas, anchorages, and local hazards.
