Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin ECHOMAP™ UHD2 72cv (part number 010-02593-00) is a 7-inch chartplotter and fishfinder designed for navigation and underwater detection. Shipped without a transducer, this model offers installation flexibility and customization, making it ideal for boaters or anglers already equipped with a compatible Garmin transducer or wishing to select a specific transducer (such as GT20, GT24, or GT54) tailored to their precise needs.
Performance and Positioning in the Garmin Range
The ECHOMAP UHD2 72cv is part of Garmin’s ECHOMAP UHD2 series, representing an evolution from previous ECHOMAP models. This series benefits from performance improvements and proven reliability. Unlike higher-end units such as the GPSMAP series, the ECHOMAP UHD2 72cv positions itself as a versatile and accessible solution, offering essential chartplotting and fishfinding features without the added cost of a standardized transducer that may not suit all uses.
Advanced Chartplotting and Navigation
This chartplotter is fully compatible with Garmin Navionics+ charts, ensuring precise and detailed navigation. The intuitive user interface, characteristic of Garmin, simplifies access to chartplotting and detection functions. The integrated GPS system guarantees reliable positioning, though note that performance may degrade near terrestrial broadband networks operating on frequencies close to GNSS systems.
Installation and Technical Specifications
Designed for clean and robust flush mounting, the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 72cv features precise dimensions for integration at the helm. The flush-mount dimensions are 131.39 mm (5 3/16 in) in height and 172.95 mm (6 13/16 in) in width. The required opening for installation is 106.58 mm (4 3/16 in) in height and 154 mm (6 1/16 in) in width. The bezel edges measure 6 mm (1/4 in) on the sides and 1.6 mm (1/16 in) on the top. For compliance with radiofrequency (RF) exposure requirements, the device must be installed and used with a minimum of 20 cm (7.87 in) of separation between the device and the user’s body. It is important not to submerge the device and to use it within the temperature ranges specified in the printed manual.
