Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for decorative and indirect marine lighting, the Garmin ECLIPSE SL100 5-meter LED light strip is a flexible solution for creating ambiance on board. It can be discreetly installed under gunwales, furniture, or behind ceiling panels, providing an alternative to direct light sources. This LED strip operates within a voltage range of 10 to 15V DC, with a typical consumption of approximately 5 watts per meter and per channel, and a current draw of about 0.41A at 12V per meter.
Design and durability
The Garmin ECLIPSE SL100 is fully encapsulated and made from UV-resistant material, ensuring durability in marine environments. Its IP68 rating guarantees full resistance to water and dust. While it can be installed in damp areas, it is not designed for permanent submersion. Its dimensions are approximately 10.8mm in width and 5.2mm in thickness. It features flexibility allowing a minimum bending radius of 50mm on the vertical axis, but must not be bent or twisted on the horizontal axis.
Installation and control
The SL100 strip is installed using a pre-applied adhesive. For outdoor installations, in damp areas, or with tight curves, it is recommended to use mounting clips (provided) every 250 to 300mm in addition to the adhesive. The strip can be cut to the desired length at the marked cut points, with end sealing performed using the supplied silicone to maintain waterproofing. Control is achieved via a simple switch for monochrome or two-color versions. For RGB light strips, the use of an ECLIPSE Command Center and optional extension modules is mandatory to manage colors and effects. It is important not to wire the blue and white channels to light up simultaneously on two-color versions.
