Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin Force® Current is a stern-mounted trolling motor for kayak fishing. This exact version includes the floating wireless remote but does not include Power Steer foot pedals; those are a separate accessory. Its brushless motor provides wireless control and Anchor Lock with compatible Garmin devices.
Power and circuit protection
Garmin allows a nominal 12 or 24 V DC battery (motor input 10 to 32 V DC). The positive motor lead must run through a DC-rated 40 A continuous fuse or circuit breaker; the breaker is not included. Garmin documents give different cable lengths; measure the supplied cable before sizing any extension. Select the battery, charger, connectors, any cable extension and wire gauge for the actual kayak and electrical layout. This page does not validate a universal battery-and-harness kit. A fishfinder, if fitted, is a separate device whose power supply must be assessed separately.
Kayak installation
Not every kayak is suitable for this motor. Check the stern mounting surface, structural strength and propeller clearance through 360°. If unsure, consult the kayak manufacturer and a qualified marine installer. A high-efficiency propeller and a weedless propeller are supplied. No operating time is guaranteed: it depends on the usable battery capacity, speed, kayak and conditions.

Propulsion batteries to assess
The Rebelcell 12V75 EDGE (12.8 V) and Rebelcell 24V75 EDGE (25.6 V) are battery options with nominal voltages matching the 12 or 24 V Garmin permits for this motor. Rebelcell rates their BMS for 100 A continuous discharge. Before installation, check battery mounting and protection on the kayak, terminals, connectors, cable length and gauge, and Garmin's required 40 A continuous DC fuse or breaker. These battery references do not validate a universal harness or guarantee runtime. Assess any fishfinder power supply separately.
These references are temporarily unavailable for online purchase until lithium transport is approved. Contact Skysat to review the installation.
