After selecting a suitable mounting location, attach the included mounting template to the surface, aligning it along the bow-stern axis. Drill the mounting holes using a 15 mm drill bit. If cables need to pass through the surface, drill a 32 mm pass-through hole along the central channel indicated on the template. Then remove the template.

Before installing the antenna, ensure the pedestal is firmly mounted. Remove the protective cover from the waveguide located on top of the pedestal. Align the pedestal’s waveguide with the socket under the antenna and slide the antenna onto the pedestal. Secure the antenna to the pedestal by tightening the captive hex bolts under the antenna arm to a torque of 7.9 N·m (6 lbf·ft).

The GMR Fantom™ 126 radar requires an input voltage of 10 to 32 Vdc. It can be connected directly to the boat’s battery or via a voltage converter (if included or purchased separately). A 15 A fuse holder is integrated into the radar’s power cable. If a voltage converter is used, an additional 30 A fuse must be installed between the converter and the battery.

Yes, the radar (and the voltage converter, if applicable) must be connected to a proper seawater ground. Use a 3.31 mm² (12 AWG) copper wire (not included) to connect the pedestal ground connector to the seawater ground point. After connecting, coat the ground screw and the crimp connector with marine sealant.

When routing cables, it is important to:

Apply marine sealant around every penetration hole to ensure watertightness. Use appropriate cable ties and fasteners. Do not route cables near moving parts, high-heat sources, or through doors and bilge areas. Avoid running network and power cables parallel to other cables (radio antennas, etc.) to prevent interference. If unavoidable, cables must be shielded. Install the power cable as close as possible to the battery source.

The GMR Fantom™ 126 radar is compatible with Garmin BlueNet™ and Garmin Marine Network networks. To operate, it must be connected to a Garmin chartplotter compatible with one of these networks.
