Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin GOS™ 10 Hub is the cornerstone of the Garmin OnBoard™ remote monitoring and control system. Designed for demanding boat owners, it centralizes essential data from your vessel, enabling remote tracking and management via the ActiveCaptain mobile app. This hub stands out for its ability to integrate a wide range of sensors for a comprehensive overview of the boat's condition, offering unparalleled peace of mind whether you're docked or miles away from your vessel.
Features and technical integration
The GOS™ 10 Hub provides continuous monitoring of critical parameters such as battery voltage, shore power status, and bilge pump activity. It also includes GPS tracking capabilities for vessel location and supports safety sensors like door/hatch contacts and motion detectors. Its NMEA 2000 connectivity allows interfacing with existing marine electronics, consolidating engine data, fuel levels, and other vital information. Unlike more basic monitoring systems, the GOS™ 10 offers remote control capabilities, enabling you to activate or deactivate certain equipment, such as lighting, directly from your smartphone. An internal battery ensures up to 48 hours of monitoring autonomy in case of main power failure, guaranteeing continued alerts in critical situations. While the Garmin OnBoard™ system is a complete solution, the GOS™ 10 serves as the central module, similar to hubs in competing systems like Raymarine YachtSense Link or B&G telemetry modules, but specifically optimized for the Garmin ecosystem and ActiveCaptain app.
Connectivity and customizable alerts
Remote communication is handled via cellular connectivity (requiring a subscription), allowing the GOS™ 10 Hub to send customizable notifications and alerts directly to your mobile device. These alerts can be configured to respond to specific events, such as abnormal battery discharge, bilge pump activation, or intrusion. Operating within a 10 to 32 V DC voltage range makes it compatible with most marine electrical installations. The GOS™ 10 aligns with Garmin's connectivity strategy, aiming to deliver a seamless, integrated user experience for comprehensive boat management, from the dashboard to remote monitoring.
