Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin LiveScope™ Plus LVS34-IF transducer is a real-time sonar solution specifically optimized for ice fishing. Evolving from previous LiveScope generations such as the LVS32, the LVS34-IF offers improved clarity, better target separation, and reduced noise for sharper and more detailed sonar images. Unlike standard LVS34 versions designed for transom or electric motor installation, the -IF version is adapted for mounting on an ice fishing rod, facilitating its deployment and orientation in an ice hole.
Advanced technical performance for ice fishing
This transducer operates over an extended frequency range, from 530 to 1,100 kHz, enabling high-resolution image acquisition. It can reach a maximum depth/range of 61 meters, making it effective for exploring a wide water column under the ice. The field of view is optimized with a 135-degree angle from front to back and 20 degrees laterally, providing extended coverage to locate fish and underwater structures. Its compact dimensions (161.7 x 77.5 x 47.8 mm) and weight of 1,018 g (transducer only) make it easy to handle and install on a rod. Designed for demanding environments, it operates within a temperature range of -10°C to 40°C and can be stored from -40°C to 85°C.
Simplified installation and integration
Installing the LVS34-IF transducer on an ice fishing rod (not included) is facilitated by the included mounting hardware, which includes a rubber liner for rods up to 25 mm in diameter, a tree mounting bracket, and screws. A low-profile mounting option is also provided for those who prefer a more discreet installation without the frequent adjustment button. The transducer connects directly to the GLS™ 10 sonar module via the XDCR port. To minimize electromagnetic interference, a ferrite filter (if included) can be added near the GLS 10 module connector. The design allows for quick orientation changes between down and forward views, offering essential flexibility for ice fishing. It is crucial to secure the transducer cable to avoid tripping hazards and falls, and to avoid over-tightening clamps to prevent cable damage.
