The Garmin VEU723L-Southern Europe is a BlueChart g3 Vision HD marine mapping solution designed for detailed navigation in the waters of Southern Europe. Available in microSD™/SD™ card format, it is compatible with Garmin chartplotters in the GPSMAP and ECHOMAP series. This mapping integrates Garmin and Navionics® content for accurate coverage and clarity.
Extended Geographic Coverage
This chart provides detailed coastal coverage of the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and the Iberian Peninsula. It includes areas such as the Strait of Gibraltar, the Balearic Islands, the French Riviera, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, the Adriatic Sea, the Greek islands, the Aegean Sea, the Dardanelles and Bosphorus straits, the Sea of Azov, the Dnieper River up to the Belarus/Ukraine border, the Sea of Marmara, Cyprus, the Suez Canal, the ports of Tripoli and Algiers, the Gulf of Gabès and Gulf of Tunis, as well as certain inland waters. Coverage also extends along the Atlantic coast of the Iberian Peninsula, from the Canary Islands to the Bay of Biscay, encompassing the Gulf of Cadiz, the Portuguese coast, and the islands of Madeira and the Azores.
Advanced Navigation Features
The Garmin VEU723L-Southern Europe chart integrates features such as Auto Guidance¹ technology, which quickly calculates a suggested route based on desired depth and clearance. The bathymetric resolution offers depth contours down to 1 meter (1 foot) in certain areas for precise representation of the seabed structure. Depth Range Shading provides high-resolution coloring for up to 10 depth ranges, while Shallow Water Shading highlights shallow waters to avoid.
Enhanced Visualization and Detail
For better understanding of the environment, this mapping offers High-resolution Relief Shading, which combines colors and shadows to provide an interpretable view of the seabed profile (downloadable via the ActiveCaptain® app). High-resolution Satellite Imagery overlays charts with satellite images for a realistic view of surroundings, useful when entering unfamiliar ports. Unique 3D views are included, such as FishEye View for an underwater perspective and MarinerEye View for a 3D representation above and below the waterline. Aerial Photography provides details of ports, anchorages, and marinas.
