Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for recreational anglers and small craft, the Garmin STRIKER™ Vivid 4cv with GT20-TM transducer is a compact and high-performance fishfinder/GPS combo. This model integrates advanced sonar technologies and navigation features for improved fish and underwater structure detection. It features a 4.3-inch (10.9 cm) QSVGA color display with 272 x 480 pixel resolution and 7 new vivid color palettes for enhanced contrast and clarity.
Advanced Sonar Technologies
The STRIKER™ Vivid 4cv comes with the GT20-TM transducer (4-pin), supporting traditional CHIRP frequencies (50/77/200 kHz) and CHIRP ClearVü scanning sonar (260/455/800 kHz). Traditional CHIRP technology ensures precise target separation and definition, while ClearVü provides a near-photographic image of the seafloor and submerged structures. With a 300 W RMS transmit power, it reaches a maximum depth of 1,900 feet (approximately 579 meters) in freshwater for traditional sonar and 750 feet (approximately 228 meters) for ClearVü.
Navigation and Custom Mapping
Featuring a high-sensitivity GPS receiver, the STRIKER™ Vivid 4cv enables accurate boat positioning, route planning, and speed tracking. It allows marking up to 5,000 waypoints to easily relocate fishing spots, docks, or boat ramps. A key feature is Quickdraw Contours, which lets users create and store bathymetric maps with 1-foot (30 cm) contour lines over up to 2 million acres. This real-time mapping capability provides a significant advantage over entry-level fishfinders that lack this function.
Fishing Features and Durability
This combo includes several practical fishing features such as split-screen zoom, fish symbol identification, AutoGain technology to reduce clutter, adjustable depth line, A-Scope for real-time fish display, Ultrascroll® for high-speed detection, and Bottom Lock for bottom viewing. The water temperature sensor is also integrated into the transducer. The STRIKER™ Vivid 4cv housing is IPX7-rated, ensuring water resistance in marine environments. This model is positioned as an affordable alternative in the Garmin lineup, offering key features of higher-end models like the ECHOMAP, without the touchscreen interface or NMEA 2000 networking capabilities, making it ideal for budget-conscious users seeking advanced sonar performance and custom mapping.
