The GARMIN SUPRA TIX1604 interchangeable through-hull underwater LED light is a marine-grade lighting solution offering high-intensity illumination and simplified maintenance. Part of the Lumishore EOS series, this model features full RGBW color spectrum capability (39,375 total lumens and 17,500 lumens in pure white mode). It integrates 36 x 10 W white LEDs, 36 x 3 W green LEDs, 36 x 3 W blue LEDs, and 48 x 3 W red LEDs, providing extended coverage with a 110° beam angle.
Design and Performance
Constructed with a marine-grade bronze body and borosilicate glass lens, the TIX1604 is built to withstand harsh marine environments, with IP68 rating for water and dust ingress protection. Its interchangeable through-hull design allows LED module and integrated drivers to be serviced from inside the hull, eliminating the need to haul the vessel out of the water. Powered by 24 V DC (20–31 V DC range), it draws up to 6.5 A and offers a typical LED lifespan exceeding 50,000 hours. Surge protection (3,000 V), automatic thermal management (ATRB), and low-voltage protection ensure operational reliability. The lens face diameter is 140 mm, with a barrel length of 184 mm, requiring a 92 mm hull cutout.
Integration and Control
The SUPRA TIX1604 provides multiple control options, including integration with certified multifunction displays (MFD) via the EOS-LUX control head, EOS-LUX-SUPRA display, and WiFi control from a smartphone or connected device. It supports the Lumi-DMX communication protocol (DMX 512 and RDMX compatible), enabling advanced features such as zone control, scene creation, full color cycles, customizable strobes, and lighting synchronization. Compared to its counterpart, the TIX804 (27,000 total lumens, 12,000 white lumens, 120 mm diameter), the TIX1604 delivers higher light output and larger size, making it suitable for vessels requiring superior illumination, with a recommended maximum hull length of 100 m. Electrical installation is simplified with plug-and-play connections but requires a dedicated fuse per light and grounding for galvanic protection.
