Installation and Power

The XPLORE 12 control unit can be installed in versatile configurations: on a gimbal mount or overhead mount. For secure installation, drill four 4 mm (5/32") mounting holes and a 31.75 mm (1 1/4") cable hole located 50 to 100 mm (2" to 4") behind the chosen location. The unit requires 12 VDC power and must be protected by a 'slow-blow' type fuse or equivalent MDL 5A fuse. A 2 m (6 ft) power cable is included, with the option to extend using stranded copper wire of appropriate gauge: 12 AWG for lengths up to 12 ft, and 10 AWG for lengths up to 24 ft. It is critical to connect the unit to a 12 VDC power source, even on boats equipped with 24 or 36 V systems.

Connectivity and Features

The Humminbird XPLORE 12 combo is designed for integration with various accessories and optional Ethernet equipment. It also features an NMEA 2000® port for extended connectivity to the onboard network. Cables must be routed away from VHF radios or tachometer cables to minimize interference risks.
