Flush-mount kit for XPLORE 10 (IDMK-X10 -740237-1)

The Humminbird IDMK-X10 flush-mount kit is designed for integrating multifunction displays from the XPLORE series, including the XPLORE 10. This kit enables a flush and secure installation of the control unit in your vessel’s dashboard, providing an integrated finish and enhanced protection for the device.

Installation planning and preparation

Before proceeding with installation, it is essential to select a flat and stable location on the dashboard. This area must be sufficiently distant from electric motors or equipment likely to generate electronic interference. The mounting zone must also provide minimum depth for the control unit and cables: 4.8" (121.9 mm) for the XPLORE 9, 5.3" (134.6 mm) for the XPLORE 10, and 5.3" (134.6 mm) for the XPLORE 12. Adequate ventilation beneath the mounting surface is required. If installing multiple displays side by side, a minimum spacing of 1" (25.4 mm) horizontally or vertically between units is recommended.

Cutting and assembly

The flush-mount hole is cut using the provided template, requiring a drill, various drill bits, and a cutting tool suited to the dashboard material. Once the hole is cut and deburred, the flush-mount bracket is installed. The kit includes screws (1/4 - 20 x 3/4"), truss head screws (1/4" - 20), flat washers (1/4" x 3/4" and .235" x 1.4"), sealing washers (1/4" x 1/2" and 1/4 x 1 1/4), a hex nut (1/4" - 20), and an Allen key. For dashboards thicker than 5/8" (16 mm), longer truss head screws may be required. The control unit is then inserted and secured using the kit components, ensuring power tools are not used for tightening to avoid damaging the hardware.

Cable connections

After physically installing the display, cables are routed through the lower opening of the vertical bracket to the control unit’s connector panel. Each cable must be connected to its dedicated port, with connectors featuring keyed designs to prevent installation errors. Manually tightening the screw nut on each cable ensures a secure and watertight connection. It is advisable to cover unused ports with their caps to prevent potential damage.
