Detailed description
The Humminbird 360 MEGA Imaging module is designed to provide 360-degree underwater imaging for anglers equipped with Minn Kota Ultrex and Ultrex QUEST electric motors. This advanced imaging system connects to compatible Humminbird fishfinders in the APEX, XPLORE, SOLIX, and HELIX MEGA Imaging+ series, transforming your perception of the underwater environment around your vessel.
Imaging technology and frequencies
The MEGA 360 Imaging system operates on two distinct beam frequencies: 455 kHz and MEGA. These frequencies provide 2x 90° coverage at -10 dB, delivering detailed detection of structures and fish. The ability to switch frequencies allows adaptation of the view to specific conditions and user needs. The module also includes sharpness and contrast adjustment functions. Contrast can be adjusted manually or automatically via the MEGA 360 Dynamic Contrast feature, while sharpness allows filtering and accentuation of imagery contours. Water column sensitivity is also adjustable to optimize detection based on the environment.
Features and navigation
The Humminbird 360 MEGA Imaging module allows adjustment of the 360-degree scanning speed and range, and isolation of a specific section of the scan for targeted analysis. Waypoints can be marked and displayed directly on the 360 view, facilitating navigation and location of points of interest. Customizable overlays are available to display various information such as the boat icon, range circles and labels, beam frequency label, zoom, compass, heading line, waypoints, and cursor data. For data optimization, the 360 view can be used alongside traditional 2D Sonar and Chart views.
Technical and operational specifications
This module is designed to operate on a 10 to 18 V DC power supply and draws a maximum current draw of 0.5 amperes. Its output power is 500 W (RMS) and 4,000 W (peak-to-peak). It supports operating temperatures from -20°C to 70°C and storage temperatures from -40°C to 70°C. The MEGA 360 Imaging transducer can be used in water at speeds between 0 and 7 mph (approximately 0 to 11 km/h). It is recommended not to leave it in the water during high-speed travel to prevent wear and damage. To avoid wear, the transducer must be powered off via its switch when the boat is docked or in storage.
