Detailed description
Detailed description
The Humminbird HB-2124 radar is a solid-state X-band system designed for marine detection, integrating pulse compression and CHIRP technologies. It operates on 12 or 24 VDC power supplies, with a voltage range of 10.8 VDC to 31.2 VDC, and consumes 17 W in transmit mode and 7 W in standby mode.
Performance and technical specifications
This radar delivers a peak power of 20 W and operates on a transmit frequency ranging from 9354 to 9446 MHz. CHIRP technology is supported with pulse lengths from 400 ns to 22 µs and a bandwidth up to 32 MHz. Available range scales range from 1/16 to 24 nautical miles. Its nominal beam width is 4.9° horizontal and 20° vertical, with a rotation speed of 24 rpm. The unit weighs 5.6 kg and is supplied with a 10-meter power cable.
Durability and integration
The Humminbird HB-2124 radar is designed to withstand marine conditions, with an IPX6 (IEC 529) water resistance rating. Its operating temperature range is from -10 to +55° C and it can withstand winds up to 100 knots. It is compatible with ONIX/SOLIX models, HELIX G2N, G3N (with AS ETH NMEA2K module), G4N (with AS QD NMEA2000 adapter) and APEX and XPLORE systems. For HELIX installations, an AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter cable is required. It is important to note that multiple radars cannot be connected to the same network and must be separated vertically by at least 0.5 meters, as well as at least 1 meter from radio equipment (2 meters for SSB radios).
