Detailed description
Detailed description
The ICOM MA-510TR Class B AIS transponder is a standalone solution with a dedicated screen for monitoring maritime traffic. Unlike "black box" AIS modules (such as the Garmin AIS 800 or Raymarine AIS700) that require an external chartplotter, this model allows direct reading of surrounding targets. It transmits at a power of 2 W on frequencies from 161.500 to 162.025 MHz, ensuring your visibility to commercial and recreational vessels equipped with an AIS receiver.
NMEA Connectivity and System Integration
Designed for easy integration with onboard electronics, the MA-510TR features NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 network interfaces. This dual compatibility allows for multiplexing AIS and GPS data to a multifunction chartplotter, radar, or PC navigation software via its USB port (mini-B type). The unit is powered by 12 V or 24 V DC (9.6 to 31.2 V tolerance) to adapt to all marine electrical systems, with a limited transmission power consumption of 1.5 A (at 12 V).
72-Channel GPS Receiver and Safety Features
This transponder utilizes an external 72-channel GPS antenna (frequency 1575.42 MHz) supplied with a 10-meter cable, compatible with WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, and GAGAN differential corrections for maximum positioning accuracy. The interface offers configurable anti-collision alarms (CPA/TCPA), a guard zone alarm, and advanced target management (friend list, dangerous targets, waypoints). Its compact housing (166.2 x 110.2 x 92.5 mm) is designed to withstand marine environments with an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C.
