Detailed description
Detailed description
The Lowrance Eagle 9 TripleShot is a fishfinder and chartplotter combo designed specifically for anglers seeking advanced detection performance in an accessible format. Featuring a 9-inch screen, it offers a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, ensuring clear readability of the seabed and navigation data, with wide 85° viewing angles in all directions.
TripleShot Transducer: CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan
At the heart of this system is the TripleShot transducer, an all-in-one solution that simplifies installation while maximizing detection capabilities. It combines high-frequency CHIRP sonar for clear and distinct fish arches with 455/800 kHz SideScan and DownScan Imaging™ technologies. SideScan provides a detailed view of structures up to several tens of meters on each side of the boat, while DownScan offers a near-photographic image of what lies directly beneath the hull. This versatility allows for quick identification of fish-holding areas, bottom features, and wrecks.
Navigation and Chartplotting
As a chartplotter, the Eagle 9 is equipped with a microSD card reader (up to 32 GB), allowing the use of a wide range of marine charts (sold separately). The unit enables the creation and management of waypoints, routes, and tracks, essential tools for returning to productive fishing spots. A MOB (Man Overboard) function is also accessible via a simultaneous press of the zoom keys.
Design and Specifications
Designed for the marine environment, the Eagle 9's housing is waterproof to IPX7 standards. It operates on a 12 V DC power supply and has a maximum power consumption of 7.68 W (640 mA), making it suitable for small to medium-sized boats. The interface is controlled by buttons, ensuring reliable operation even with wet hands. Compared to the Eagle 5 and 7 models, the Eagle 9 offers the largest screen in the range, a decisive advantage for interpreting SideScan images. Unlike higher series like the Lowrance HDS or Elite, the Eagle positions itself as a powerful standalone unit, without extensive networking capabilities, making it a preferred choice for a dedicated fishing station or a simplified installation.
