Detailed description
Detailed description
The Mastervolt Masterswitch 10 kW 230V automatic switch is the central component for securing and automating AC power distribution aboard your boat. Designed to replace cumbersome manual selectors, it automatically manages switching between two distinct power sources (e.g., a generator or shore power on input 1, and an inverter on input 2) to a single output. With a management capacity of up to 40A, it ensures continuous service for your power equipment without risk of short circuits thanks to its multipole relay switching.
Intelligent priority management and delay
This Masterswitch 0 stands out for its strict priority management. Input 1, dedicated to shore power or the generator, has absolute priority. To preserve the mechanics of your generator and avoid voltage fluctuations at startup, the switch includes an adjustable delay of 0 to 10 seconds (factory setting at 10 seconds). If this input is connected to shore power, this delay can be reduced to 0 seconds. In the absence of voltage on input 1, the system automatically switches to input 2 (inverter) with an ultra-fast switching time (12 to 22 ms), thereby limiting micro-interruptions for sensitive equipment.
Robust design for marine environments
Unlike the Masterswitch Fuses models that include circuit breakers, this compact 1.3 kg version requires the addition of external protections (circuit breakers and residual current devices) suited to your installation. Its IP55 waterproof housing (dimensions 200 x 110 x 115 mm) provides excellent resistance to dust and water splashes, making it ideal for installation in the engine room. It accepts cable cross-sections from 0.5 to 10 mm² (AWG 20-7) to perfectly match the requirements of a 40A line. Although it is not MasterBus compatible, its intrinsic power consumption is extremely low (7W under load, 0W on the inverter input alone), thus optimizing your energy balance.
