The Minn Kota RTA-19 quick-release plate is designed to simplify the installation and removal of electric trolling motors in saltwater. Specifically developed for Minn Kota RT Fortrex®, RT Maxxum® and RT Edge models, this composite solution provides increased flexibility for storage, safety, and maintenance of your motor.

Design and compatibility

The RTA-19 system consists of an inner plate and an outer plate, an assembly handle, and a locking pin, complemented by a stainless steel mounting kit. Its composite design is suited for marine environments, offering resistance to saltwater conditions. The plate allows for quick attachment and removal of the motor, which is particularly useful for anglers looking to protect their equipment or facilitate transport.

Optimized installation

Installation of the RTA-19 plate is simplified thanks to alignment marks and a printed template inside the packaging. It is recommended to mount the motor as close as possible to the boat’s centerline, ensuring no obstacles interfere with deployment or stowage. The plate comes with all necessary fasteners, including screws, washers, and Nylock nuts in stainless steel. To prevent seizing of stainless steel fasteners, avoid using high-speed installation tools and either moisten the screws or apply an anti-seize compound. A stabilizing strap must be correctly positioned in its housing to ensure the assembly’s reliability.
