Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding hydraulic steering systems, the Raymarine Type 3 hydraulic linear actuator (M81202) is an autopilot drive solution operating at 12V. This model is intended for vessels requiring higher thrust force, placing it above Type 2 versions such as the E12207 (12V) or E12208 (24V), and providing a 12V alternative to the M81203 (Type 3 24V) model.
Integration and technical performance
The M81202 actuator integrates with the autopilot system via a compatible Raymarine route computer. Installation requires a very robust mounting structure capable of withstanding the peak thrust levels generated by the unit, in accordance with technical specifications. The installation process includes precise alignment of the hydraulic actuator, connection to the steering system, mounting of the hydraulic pump and reservoir, and electrical connections for the clutch and route computer.
With a main length of 452 mm, the actuator has specific dimensions for integration, including mounting points and offsets such as 76 mm, 101 mm, 55 mm, 50 mm, 20 mm, 9 mm, 51 mm, 90 mm, 108 mm, 171 mm, and 102 mm (all dimensions in millimeters). For safety and maintenance, it features a quick-release tab allowing manual release of the actuator from the tiller arm or quadrant in case of failure. Raymarine equipment complies with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations for the recreational marine environment, ensuring reliable integration aboard.
