Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for flexible integration on any type of vessel, the Raymarine Ray91 VHF transceiver (reference E70493) is a marine communication system with a "black box" architecture. It integrates Digital Selective Calling (DSC) functions and an AIS receiver (Automatic Identification System) for improved situational awareness and enhanced safety at sea. This model differs from the Raymarine Ray90 by including an integrated AIS receiver, providing a complete solution for monitoring maritime traffic.
Features and Positioning
The Raymarine Ray91 allows connection of one or more combined units (wired or wireless) and passive or active speakers, offering high installation modularity. This "black box" design is particularly suited to boats where dashboard space is limited, allowing the main unit to be relocated. Compared to integrated VHF units such as the Ray63 or Ray73 models, the Ray91 offers superior flexibility in configuring the onboard communication system. It is compatible with Raymarine multifunction displays (MFD) for complete integration of AIS data and VHF functions on the primary display.
Integration and Compatibility
The system requires an MMSI (Maritime Mobile Service Identity) license and, for certain regions, an ATIS (Automatic Transmitter Identification System) number to operate in compliance with regulations. The Raymic wired handset is compatible with software version v1.61a or higher for the Ray90/Ray91. Installation and maintenance are simplified by detailed technical documentation available on the Raymarine website and a modular design that allows individual component diagnosis and updates. The Ray90/Ray91 base station measures 236 mm in length and 150 mm in width, with mounting points spaced 217 mm and 104 mm apart, facilitating discreet integration.
