Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding hydraulic steering systems, the Raymarine T3 24V reversible pump (M81124) is a solution for vessels equipped with cylinders ranging from 350 to 500 cc. This model is part of Raymarine’s hydraulic pump series, positioned as the most powerful option above the Type 0.5 (50-110 cc), Type 1 (80-230 cc), and Type 2 (230-350 cc) models, offering compatibility with larger vessels. It can operate on single- or double-acting cylinders and can be integrated into pressurized reservoir systems.
Performance and technical integration
The T3 24V pump is powered by a 24V DC motor, delivering a peak flow rate of 3100 cc/min at idle. Its typical current draw is 15.5 A at 24 V and 55 bar, making it efficient for 24V electrical systems. The motors are IP67 certified, allowing installation in engine compartments and providing protection against temporary immersion. Pilot-operated check valves are integrated to prevent backforce from the manual steering system or rudder load, ensuring greater stability and responsiveness of the autopilot.
Compliance and installation
This pump complies with EMC (EN60945:2002) and RCD (EN28846:1993 & EN ISO 10592:1995) standards, minimizing electromagnetic interference. Installation is designed for below-deck environments, requiring a substantial mounting structure to limit vibrations. Raymarine recommends using specific cables and a power supply separate from the engine starter battery to optimize EMC performance. Absolute cleanliness is essential when handling hydraulic systems to ensure proper operation of check valves and prevent contamination of the hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic ports are 1/4 inch BSPP.
