Detailed description
The Standard Horizon GX2410GPSE fixed VHF is a marine communication solution designed for safety and navigation. It integrates an AIS (Automatic Identification System) receiver and a GPS module, providing AIS target display and precise position directly from the unit. With a transmit power of 25 W (HI) or 1 W (LO), switchable via the [H/L] button, it adapts to short- or long-range communication needs.
Advanced safety and communication features
The GX2410GPSE is equipped with a 30-watt loudhailer with pre-programmed fog signals and a listen function, enhancing safety in reduced visibility. Noise suppression for transmit and receive audio ensures clear communications. The unit is submersible and IPX8 certified, allowing immersion to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, ensuring durability in marine environments.
Integration and performance
NMEA2000 connectivity, with a Load Equivalency Number (LEN) of 1, facilitates integration of the GX2410GPSE into existing onboard electronic networks, enabling sharing of AIS and GPS data. The commercial-grade receiver with 80 dB sensitivity ensures excellent reception. COG (Course Over Ground) accuracy ranges from ±3° at speeds of 1 to 17 knots and ±1° above 17 knots, with continuous position updates whether the vessel is under way or at anchor. Day and Night display modes are available for optimal readability in all lighting conditions.
Compliance and versatility
This VHF complies with the European Directive on radio equipment 2014/53/EU, ensuring conformity with safety and electromagnetic compatibility standards. It offers features such as user-programmable scan, priority scan, dual/triple watch, and a 32- or 4-code voice scrambler for private communications. The unit can be configured to transmit the appropriate fog frequency based on vessel size (70-200 Hz for vessels 200 meters or longer).
