Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for off-grid solar applications requiring reliable AC power, the VICTRON ENERGY Inverter RS 48/6000 230V Smart Solar is an integrated solution. It combines a powerful inverter, a bidirectional DC-DC converter, and a high-voltage MPPT solar charger. This model delivers 6 kVA (6000 VA) of pure sine wave 230 VAC output, suitable for demanding equipment.
Solar integration and performance
The Inverter RS 48/6000 stands out for its ability to handle a wide PV input voltage range, from 80 to 450 VDC, with a PV start voltage of 120 VDC. It can support a maximum PV input power of 4 kWp and a maximum PV input current of 18 A. The integrated charger offers a battery charging capacity of up to 100 A. Its design uses high-frequency technology, making it lightweight (11 kg) and quiet in operation. Energy efficiency is optimized, including low standby consumption.
Connectivity and advanced management
For monitoring and configuration, the device is equipped with Bluetooth, enabling access via the VictronConnect app on smartphones and tablets. A VE.Can port is included for connection to a GX device, providing comprehensive system monitoring, data logging, and remote firmware updates. A VE.Direct port also facilitates remote monitoring with devices such as the GlobalLink 520. Safety is ensured by an integrated PV isolator, simplifying the disconnection of parallel PV strings. Connections for a programmable relay, a temperature sensor, and a voltage sensor are available, and the remote input can be configured to accept the Victron miniBMS. This model supports AC and DC coupled PV battery charging, with frequency shift power control enabled by default. Compared to Victron Energy’s MultiPlus or Quattro inverter/chargers, the Inverter RS is specifically optimized for standalone solar systems with high-voltage PV input, but it does not currently support parallel or three-phase operation, unlike these more established ranges.
