Designed for demanding marine and off-grid applications, the Victron Energy Lithium 12.8V/330Ah Smart battery (LiFePO4) provides an energy storage solution using lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) technology. This 12.8 V, 330 Ah battery includes cell balancing and monitoring, and communicates via Bluetooth, enabling real-time tracking of cell voltages, temperature, and alerts through the VictronConnect app.
Performance and energy efficiency
LiFePO4 technology delivers a round-trip energy efficiency of 92%, exceeding the 80% efficiency of lead-acid batteries. This efficiency is maintained even during shallow discharges, where lead-acid batteries can drop to 50%. The battery does not require systematic full charging, which extends its lifespan. It offers a lifespan of 2,500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge (DoD). The operating temperature range is wide, with a nominal capacity at -20 °C during discharge. The BMS stops charging if the temperature becomes too high or too low. The battery weighs 51 kg and is rated IP22.
System integration and scalability
The Lithium 12.8V/330Ah Smart battery is designed to be connected in series, parallel, or series/parallel, allowing battery banks to be built for 12 V, 24 V, or 48 V systems. A system can integrate up to 20 batteries, reaching a storage capacity of 84 kWh in a 12 V configuration. It requires an external Battery Management System (BMS) to ensure protection against undervoltage (pre-alarm at 3.1 V per cell, load disconnection at 2.8 V per cell), overvoltage (charge stop at 3.75 V per cell), and extreme temperatures. Victron Energy offers six BMS solutions tailored to various applications. This 330 Ah version represents one of the highest capacities in the 12.8 V range of Victron Energy Lithium Smart batteries, providing superior autonomy compared to 12.8V/200Ah or 12.8V/180Ah models, while retaining the same smart monitoring and protection features.
