Designed for demanding marine energy systems, the Victron Energy Smart 25.6V 100Ah lithium battery offers an energy storage solution based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology. This chemistry is recognized for its robustness and tolerance to undercharge operating modes, extending useful life even with partial recharges. It supports a wide operating temperature range, ensuring stable performance in various environments. With a round-trip efficiency of 92%, it outperforms the average 80% efficiency of lead-acid batteries and maintains 90% efficiency even in shallow discharge conditions.
System integration and performance
The Smart 25.6V 100Ah battery can be connected in series, parallel, or series/parallel, allowing the construction of battery banks for 12 V, 24 V, or 48 V systems. A single system can integrate up to 20 batteries, with a maximum energy storage capacity of 102 kWh for 24 V and 48 V systems. It includes cell balancing and monitoring. An external Battery Management System (BMS) is required for protection, managing load disconnection if cell voltage drops below 2.8 V, and charging shutdown if a cell voltage exceeds 3.75 V or in case of extreme temperature. Six BMS models are available from Victron Energy to suit various configurations.
Positioning and physical characteristics
Positioned in Victron Energy’s Smart range, this 25.6V 100Ah battery offers a balance between capacity and footprint for 24 V installations. It differs from 12.8 V models by its nominal voltage, simplifying 24 V system architectures compared to assembling two 12.8 V batteries in series. It provides lower capacity than the 25.6V 200Ah version, making it suitable for intermediate energy needs. Integrated Bluetooth connectivity allows monitoring of cell voltages, temperature, and alarm status via the VictronConnect app. It weighs 32.5 kg, enabling space and weight savings of up to 70% compared to lead-acid batteries. The battery features IP22 protection.
