The Whale GP1392 Premium Flow 12 V inline pump is a compact electric turbine pump designed for freshwater systems aboard boats and recreational vehicles. It can be used to add or replace a water pump or to boost pressure in manual and electric systems.
Technical specifications of the Whale GP1392
Operating at 12 V DC, the GP1392 delivers a flow rate of 13.2 litres per minute (LPM) at 0 metres of head, and 11.75 LPM at 1 metre of head. Current draw is approximately 3.6 amps at 0 metres of head, with current varying depending on head height. A 5 A automotive fuse is recommended for protection.
Compatible with 10 mm (3/8") or 13 mm (1/2") internal diameter hoses (13 mm adapters are often supplied), this pump can also be connected to Whale Quick Connect 12 mm and 15 mm systems using appropriate adapters. It supports a maximum head height of 3 metres and pressure up to 1.0 bar.
Design and use
Weighing approximately 150 grams and measuring 135 mm in total length with a 38 mm diameter, the Whale GP1392 pump is compact and lightweight. It includes a 1-metre cable. Designed for quiet operation and low energy consumption, it is suitable for freshwater and seawater systems, as well as water-based fluids, diesel, and light oils. Its self-ventilating design helps prevent air pockets. The pump is not self-priming and must not run dry; continuous operation should not exceed 15 minutes. Its construction features robust molded parts and motors, often with a stainless steel impeller for corrosion resistance.
