Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for deep-water detection and precise water temperature measurement, the bronze through-hull AIRMAR B260 depth sounder is a 1 kW model operating at 50/200 kHz frequencies. This version is specifically designed without a diplexer to suit dual-wire transmission echo sounders. It integrates depth and water temperature sensors with fast response.
Acoustic performance and range
With an RMS power of 1 kW, the B260 offers extended detection capabilities. At 50 kHz, its beam width is 19°, allowing a maximum depth range of 529 m to 735 m. At 200 kHz, the beam width is 6°, with a maximum depth range of 206 m to 294 m. The transducer has increased sensitivity, being 50 times more sensitive at 50 kHz and 13 times more sensitive at 200 kHz than 600 W reference models.
Design and installation
The B260 depth sounder features a bronze housing and weighs 7.3 kg. It is supplied with a high-performance fairing that allows installation on hulls with a deadrise angle up to 20°. The C332-type connection cable measures 10.4 m (34'). Through-hull installation requires a pilot hole of 3 mm (1/8") and an outer drilling diameter of 33 mm (1-5/16"). For sandwich hulls, the inner drilling diameter is 42 mm (1-5/8"), requiring careful sealing of the core.
