Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for integrating ePropulsion electric propulsion systems in the EVO series, the Smart Gateway NE-PC04-00 bridge ensures seamless connectivity with external multifunction displays (MFD) via the NMEA 2000 network. This device allows users to monitor essential operational data from their engine, providing a centralized view of critical information directly on compatible displays.
Connectivity and Performance
The Smart Gateway bridge features three dedicated RS-485 interfaces (38400bps) for connecting to the propulsion system’s RS-485 network. It also includes a CAN interface (250kbps) compliant with the NMEA 2000 standard, enabling integration of ePropulsion Spirit, Navy, and Pod Drive engines with compatible MFDs. This CAN interface supports simultaneous transmission of 110 nodes and provides ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2 (±30kV air, ±30kV contact). Power is supplied via the CAN interface (NMEA 2000) with a voltage range of 8 to 30VDC and a power consumption of 0.4W at 12V under full load.
Monitoring and System Integration
This bridge transmits status information such as engine gear ratio position, engine voltage, engine speed, engine power, battery temperature, state of charge (SOC), and speed over ground (SOG). It is compatible with Nextfour Q Experience and Raymarine Axiom displays. With dimensions of 90 mm x 50 mm x 40 mm and a weight of 150 g, its compact design facilitates installation. The bridge can be wall-mounted and features IP67 waterproofing, ensuring resistance to marine environments. It operates within a temperature range of -25°C to +55°C.
