Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for accurate measurement of water depth and temperature, the Garmin GDT™ 43 through-hull transducer is a technical solution for marine navigation systems. This transducer operates at a frequency of 50 kHz and delivers a transmit power of 300 Watts, enabling depth readings up to 152 meters (500 feet).
Integration and Compatibility
Made from plastic for marine durability, the GDT™ 43 is compatible with hulls featuring a deadrise angle of 0 to 20 degrees. It can connect to a NMEA 2000® network via a NMEA 2000® adapter (not included with this version) or directly to a NMEA 0183 system. Its design allows direct replacement of existing Nexus and Silva 43 mm (TH43) through-hull transducers, simplifying upgrades to installations.
Key Features and Positioning
Compared to high-performance multibeam or CHIRP transducers, the Garmin GDT™ 43 positions itself as an essential and reliable sensor, providing fundamental navigation data. Its ability to simultaneously supply depth and temperature data makes it suitable for a wide range of vessels. The transducer’s retractable design minimizes fouling and includes a dummy plug to protect the opening during periods of non-use or maintenance. It is compatible with Garmin GMI™ 10 & 20, GNX™ 120, 130, 20, 21 & Wireless Sail Pack 43 displays, as well as various GPSMAP® chartplotter series when integrated into a NMEA 2000® network.
