Detailed description
Detailed description
The MASTERVOLT AGM 12/90Ah battery is an energy storage solution designed for demanding marine applications, offering a high-performance alternative to traditional flooded lead-acid batteries. Thanks to its AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) technology, the electrolyte is fully absorbed into the fiberglass, ensuring maintenance-free operation and no gas release during normal use. This design allows flexible installation in any environment, with a recommended vertical position and spacing of more than 1 cm between batteries, away from heat sources.
Performance and technical specifications
This MASTERVOLT battery stands out for its excellent rapid discharge capacity at high currents, making it ideal for engine starting or systems requiring high currents. It delivers starting power equivalent to a 180 Ah flooded lead-acid battery, with a nominal capacity (C20) of 90 Ah. Its technical specifications include a DIN CCA of 360 A and an SAE CCA of 570 A. The low internal resistance, due to the fiberglass technology, optimizes power delivery. Thicker plates contribute to extended service life, while the two-year warranty attests to its reliability.
Optimal installation and maintenance
Installation of the AGM 12/90Ah battery is simplified by removable M8 / type A terminals, compatible with all standard battery terminals. For optimal connection, direct mounting of the cable lug onto the battery post is recommended after removing the pole adapter. A recommended tightening torque of 14.7 to 19.6 Nm ensures secure connections. The battery operates within a temperature range of -20 to 55°C, with a nominal temperature of 5 to 35°C; 25°C is recommended for maximum longevity. For charging, use of chargers with an IUoUo characteristic is mandatory, with a floating voltage of 13.80 V and an absorption voltage of 14.25 V at 25°C, as well as temperature compensation (-30 mV/°C) and a maximum charging current of 30% of the C10 capacity. Deep discharges beyond 50% of the nominal capacity should be avoided to preserve service life. Regular connection checks and maintaining charge (recharge if open-circuit voltage drops below 12.3 V) are essential for maintenance.
