Detailed description
Detailed description
The MASTERVOLT MLI Ultra Lithium 12/1250 battery (part number 66011250) represents the pinnacle of lithium-ion technology for demanding marine environments. Designed to deliver extreme performance, it integrates high-quality Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) cells and a proprietary battery management system (BMS) in a robust, fully sealed enclosure (IP65). This combination ensures maximum reliability against high charge/discharge currents, moisture, mechanical shocks, and vibrations, far surpassing the durability of traditional lead-acid batteries.
Advanced technology and management
The sophisticated BMS of the MLI Ultra 12/1250 optimizes the use of each individual cell through a predictive self-balancing algorithm. This system anticipates cell behavior and proactively balances them, enabling faster and more efficient charging cycles while extending battery lifespan. With a nominal voltage of 12V and a capacity of 100 Ah (1250 Wh), this battery delivers a maximum continuous discharge current of 200 A (2C) and a peak current of 500 A (5C for 10 seconds), making it suitable for applications requiring high instantaneous power. It is designed to provide 3,500 cycles at an ambient temperature of 25 °C and a defined DoD of 80 %.
Optimized performance in all conditions
To ensure maximum charging performance even in freezing conditions, the MLI Ultra 12/1250 is equipped with an integrated thermal heating pad and intelligent low-temperature control. This system uses power from the connected charger to maintain cell temperature above 0 °C, ensuring fast charging and full power capabilities even at -20 °C. Its integrated battery cut-off, based on intelligent algorithms, disconnects cells in case of anomalies (overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overheating, low SoC), while maintaining continuous power delivery up to 200 amperes—where other systems might limit current. It is certified UN 38.3, CE, E-Mark, FCC, UL1973, and RVIA.
Integration and ease of installation
System integration is simplified by MasterBus, CZone, and NMEA2000 compatibility, enabling seamless communication with Mastervolt chargers and other equipment. The "plug-and-play" function allows automatic configuration with any compatible Mastervolt charger, simplifying installation without requiring complex configuration tools. With dimensions of 330 x 173 x 210 mm and a weight of 15 kg, the MLI Ultra 12/1250 is an instant replacement for Group 31 and Group 49 batteries (85-90 Ah), offering up to 70 % space and weight savings and a lifespan three times longer than traditional lead-acid batteries. It can be connected in series up to 48V and fully recharges in 60 minutes with a suitable charger (recommended charging current ≤ 50 A, max. 100 A).
