Detailed description
Detailed description
The MASTERVOLT MLI Ultra Lithium 24/1250 is a robust 24V lithium-ion (LiFePO4) battery with a nominal capacity of 50Ah and an energy rating of 1250 Wh. Designed for demanding marine environments, it delivers reliable performance even under high charge/discharge currents, humidity, mechanical shocks, and vibrations. This battery is a premium energy solution that outperforms traditional batteries in durability with over 3500 cycles at 80% DoD and up to 70% weight and space savings compared to lead-acid batteries. It is part of the MLI Ultra series, known for extreme performance and reliability.
Advanced technology and management
At the core of the MLI Ultra 24/1250 is a proprietary and sophisticated battery management system (BMS). This BMS ensures optimal use of each LiFePO4 cell, includes a proactive auto-balancing algorithm for faster and more efficient charging cycles, and provides precise monitoring of key parameters such as voltage, current, state of charge (SoC), and remaining time. For enhanced safety, an integrated battery disconnect cuts off cells in case of anomalies (overvoltage, undervoltage, overheating, low SoC), maintaining continuous discharge capacity up to 100 A (2C) and a peak current of 250 A for 10 seconds.
Cold-weather optimized performance
A major advantage of the MLI Ultra 24/1250 is its integrated thermal heating pad, controlled by the BMS to optimize charging at freezing temperatures. When cell temperature drops below 0°C, the system uses energy from the connected charger to heat the battery to 5°C, ensuring fast charging and full power capabilities even in winter conditions. This feature sets it apart from standard lithium batteries, whose charging performance can be severely reduced or blocked by cold, a notable competitive advantage over less integrated solutions.
Integration and flexibility
Connectivity is a strong point of the MLI Ultra 24/1250, integrating NMEA2000, CZone, and MasterBus communications. This enables full integration into the vessel's electrical system and plug-and-play configuration with compatible Mastervolt chargers, simplifying installation without requiring additional configuration tools. It can be configured in series up to 48V and features robust M8 battery terminals, as well as various mounting options (mounting brackets, side retention for Group 31/49). Its IP65 protection rating ensures total waterproofing, essential for marine environments, and it is certified UN 38.3, CE, E-Mark, FCC, UL1973, and RVIA.
