Detailed description
Designed for sailors seeking simplified installation and accurate navigation data, the Raymarine T70344 wireless wind kit integrates a wireless wind sensor and compass sensor. This system provides atmospheric and heading data without requiring complex cable runs through the mast, differing from fully wired solutions like the Raymarine i70s wired wind sensor.
SeaTalk NG connectivity and integration
The system’s core relies on wireless communication from the sensors (E70361/T120 for wind, E70096 for compass) to a Tacktick T113-868 gateway. This gateway then interfaces with your vessel’s SeaTalk NG network. Integration with the SeaTalk NG network is simplified by the inclusion of standard Raymarine cables and connectors (A06049, A06036, A06064, A06031, A06028). This architecture offers installation flexibility and broad compatibility with Raymarine Axiom or Element multifunction displays (MFD) and i70s instruments.
T70344 kit performance and configuration
The system provides apparent wind and true wind data (after calibration), as well as accurate heading information, essential for sailing navigation and autopilot management. Calibration of the internal compass in the wireless compass sensor (E70096) can be performed via a LightHouse 4 display or an i70/i70s instrument, as detailed in the technical documentation. This modular approach, inherited from the Tacktick range acquired by Raymarine, enables efficient wireless data management while ensuring robustness suited to the marine environment, similar to other Raymarine products.
