Detailed description
Detailed description
Specifically designed for Victron Lithium NG batteries, the Lynx Smart BMS 1000 NG (M10) is the most comprehensive battery management solution in the range. It is intended for systems requiring high current capacity, featuring an integrated 1000 A continuous contactor (1200 A peak for 5 minutes), making it a robust option for demanding marine installations.
Advanced Integration and Safety
The Lynx Smart BMS 1000 NG integrates seamlessly with Victron Energy’s Lynx Distributor M10 system, sharing M10 busbars for simplified and organized connections. It acts as an essential secondary safety system, protecting batteries in case of primary control failures (ATC, ATD, DVCC). A pre-charge circuit is integrated to prevent high inrush currents when connecting capacitive loads such as inverters, eliminating the need for external devices. This model is an evolution from the Lynx Smart BMS 500A, offering double the current capacity for larger battery bank configurations, supporting up to 384 kWh with 24V batteries or up to 128 kWh with 48V batteries, and allowing parallel connection of multiple BMS units for even higher capacities and increased redundancy.
Detailed Monitoring and Control
Monitoring and control are provided via Bluetooth connectivity and the VictronConnect app, as well as VE.Can in combination with GX devices such as the Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, and the VRM portal. These interfaces enable real-time reading of cell voltages and temperatures, as well as comprehensive data from the integrated battery monitor, including state of charge, voltage, current, and history. The closed-loop DVCC control automatically manages compatible Victron chargers/inverters and solar charge controllers. ATC/ATD contacts are available to control third-party chargers and loads with a remote on/off port. A programmable relay can be used for alarms or alternator control via its external regulator, with an Alternator ATC mode for secure disconnection. The BMS also includes monitoring of fuses for up to four connected Lynx Distributors, signaling faulty fuses.
System Connectivity and Flexibility
For integration into marine networks, the Lynx Smart BMS 1000 NG supports the NMEA 2000 protocol via a VE.Can to NMEA 2000 micro-C male adapter cable. It features an AUX terminal providing 1.1 A auxiliary power at system voltage, useful for powering devices such as a GX device after a BMS shutdown. This feature is particularly relevant for maintaining minimal system monitoring. The enclosure is made of ABS, and the product is designed for installation in a protected environment, with an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +60 °C, ensuring reliability in various environments. Support for system voltages of 12V, 24V, or 48V, with a battery voltage range of 9 to 60 VDC, offers great flexibility for different marine and land-based electrical installation configurations.
