Choosing an autopilot computer depends on several factors, including the size of the boat, the type of navigation, and the desired communication interfaces. An oversized computer isn't necessarily an advantage, but an undersized model will limit your autopilot's performance.
- Raymarine ACU (Actuator Control Unit): A complete range for hydraulic and mechanical cylinders, incorporating AST (Advanced Steering Technology) for optimal performance. SeaTalk NG and NMEA 2000 compatible.
- B&G H5000 CPU: High-performance computer for demanding navigators. Advanced control algorithms, Ethernet interfaces, and compatibility with B&G sensors. Requires expert configuration.
- Garmin Reactor 40: Computer compatible with hydraulic and mechanical systems. Shadow Drive technology for easy manual override. NMEA 2000 integration.
